Frequently Asked Questions About Comfort Bands

Comfort Bands International Ltd wants to ensure our customers are well-informed about the use and benefits of Comfort Bands before they make the decision to purchase our terry cloth sweatband product. That is why we have compiled and addressed some of the most frequently asked questions about Comfort Bands and shared the answers on our online platform.

Are Comfort Bands Fire-Retardant?

No, because this product is not made of a fire-retardant material. Some companies do not allow their employees to use Comfort Bands. Companies' classification of this product is marked as a clothing item, and their safety regulations say all clothing items must be made of fire-retardant material. Many companies look past the idea that Comfort Bands are made of 97% cotton and 3% polyester, not a fire-retardant material, and look at the advantages they have.
Many hard hat accessories are not fire-retardant, such as the plastic or vinyl basket system in all hard hats, plastic ear protection, and plastic eye protection. The foam sweatband now used by most companies is not made of fire-retardant material and is classified as a hard hat accessory. Comfort Bands are hard hat accessories.

What Are the Benefits of Comfort Bands Over the Products Now Used?

Many companies now use the foam sweatband for hard hats, which are not comfortable to wear, not easy to put on, and not very cost-efficient. When the foam bands dry out, they are not comfortable to wear, as you must be near water to dampen them to restore any type of comfort. Many workers replace the foam band instead of dampening the band. By doing this, workers are wasting money and adding undue waste to the environment.
With Comfort Bands, the band is always comfortable, damp or dry, and Comfort Bands are washable and reusable. Some workers have used the same Comfort Band for six months, which makes it a very cost-efficient product. Comfort Bands are very easy to put on and can be attached as tightly as the worker wants with the aid of their hook-and-loop closure tape.

Caution

Not all sweatbands are created equally. Look for the highest content in cotton to get maximum absorption. Most sweatbands, like woven sweatbands, contain a significant amount of polyester and polyester does not soak up moisture. Our sweatbands are made of 97% cotton and 3% polyester.

Are Comfort Bands a Safety Device?

Some major companies have adopted this product as a safety device, as it helps keep the hard hat on, helps control body heat, and helps with personal hygiene. Also, in the event of a flash fire, where 1% of the hard hats are not knocked off, it would be better to have cotton against the forehead than plastic, foam, or vinyl.

What Type of Head Gear Will Comfort Bands Fit?

Comfort Bands are manufactured to fit most popular safety equipment. On some safety equipment, they may fit loosely, and on others, they may fit tightly. Either way, the hook and loop closure tape will secure the Comfort Band to whatever brand of safety equipment the customer may own. They fit on hard hats with four-point or six-point suspension systems; bump hats, welder's helmets, face shields, enclosure suits, and almost all headgear except some firefighter helmets. We will custom-design a sweatband for special safety gear you may have or increase the soaking ability of the band.

Main Advantage of Comfort Bands

The main advantage of Comfort Bands is the added comfort the band gives to workers that wear safety equipment for a long period of time in all weather. Another main reason that companies purchase Comfort Bands is the superior sweatband features they have. A foundry firm has purchased our product to control the sweat and body heat of their employees. For full details on this feature, refer to the Comfort Band Information page.

Washing Instructions

Comfort Bands are washable and reusable. We have customers who have used the same band for six months. Comfort Bands will last longer if they are hand-washed. ** DO NOT MACHINE DRY **
It is NOT recommended to wash Comfort Bands with soap that may cause rashes if not rinsed out properly.
A meatpacking plant worker wrote in and told us that every night after his shift, he rinses his bump hat under hot water and hangs it up to dry overnight. At the end of the week, he changes the Comfort Band for a clean, washed one.
